The design concept involves preserving the current external appearance of the building, the spatial planning structure and the facing facades.
In the process of adapting the building for modern use, it is planned to conduct alterations within the limits of the chief walls, build a mansard floor in the attic space, raising the roof to historical levels. The inner triangular courtyard will be covered with a translucent canopy. The glass of the canopy will be a stained glass aluminum construction. To reduce the effects of solar activity, the construction of the glass canopy will include sunlight protection.
The courtyard covered with the glass canopy has an entrance hall from which one can enter the rooms of the first floor, and also the stars and elevators lobbies that lead to the other levels of the building. In order to reduce the activity of solar radiation and overheating when the sun’s rays directly hit the rooms of the first floor, sunlight protection is provided by revolving vertical blinds of opaque glass. The existing facades will be restored and preserved.
The preserved fragments of gallery wall finishing in the interior will be kept as museum exhibits.
