"Sokol City" Project of a retail and administration centre at the address: St. Petersburg, Primorsky administrative district, Bogatyrsky prospekt, site 32 (opposite Serafimskoe cemetery)
Client: OOO "Femida" Architects: S.V. Padalko (head), D.A. Melentev (project architect), A.N. Soloviev, O.A. Kosenko, I.V. Musanov, D.N. Antsyrev, L. Baranik
The site for construction is confined by Bogatyrsky Prospekt, Prospekt Sizova and the radial thoroughfare between them. The town-planning significance of this site is based on the axis of Komedantsky prospekt and the nature of the residential buildings in the district, which formed in the 1970s-1990s.
The building is a composition of two vertical equal volumes on a developed stylobate. In the stylobate (entry floor) are a shopping centre and the entry lobby of a business center. The administrative buildings “open out” to Komendantsky prospekt with their radial facades, and with the symmetrical planes of the back facades form the corner of Bogatyrsky propsekt and Prospekt Sizova. The axis of Komedantsky prospekt is perceived as a gap between vertical spaces through their entire height. On the top of the stylobate, it is proposed to place a square where city residents, employees and visitors of the complex can relax. The main shape-forming details of the facade are the tiered overhanging sections of the floors. This technique gives the building a characteristic silhouette that is necessary in this town-planning situation.
The outer vertical wall of the stylobate is lined with natural stone. The inclined walls are covered in green grass. The walls of the administrative buildings are stained-glass translucent constructions with a system of horizontal metallic shutters.
Main technical-economic indicators:
| total area of building | 132,535 sq. m |
| area of development | 10,151 sq. m |
| Number of floors: | 24 floor above ground + 1 underground floor |
